2018 Update on
Pat Cochenour Daylilies

Pat Cochenour's contributions to daylily hybridizing continue to receive recognition. In 2017, 'Little Lemon Twist' received the AHS Award of Merit, the Annie T. Giles Award for Best Small Flower, and was first runner-up for the Early Season Bloom Award. Pat's friends and family are so proud and happy for this well deserved recognition for a flower that charms all who see it.

Pat's daylilies were seen by many in the tour gardens at the 2017 AHS convention hosted by the Tidewater Daylily Society in Norfolk, VA. In addition to AHS convention cultivar awards, attendees also voted on awards normally given at Region 3 summer meetings, and Pat's 'Mystic Pizza' in the Driver garden won the Region 3 Serge Rigaud Award for best red clump.

As an open garden for the convention, I had visitors from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Mississippi this summer. Visitors were able to see many of Pat's registrations at peak bloom and also her seedlings that are still under evaluation. Garden visitors also had the opportunity to see first year blooms on some of my own seedlings that continue Pat's work on small unusual forms. I am an AHS Display Garden, so please contact me if you would like to visit.

Donations from 2017 sales were made in Pat's memory to the American Hemerocallis Society, the Inova Health Foundation's Life with Cancer program, and to Jake's Place Animal Rescue. Many thanks to all who support my efforts to share Pat's hybridizing legacy, especially former customers who help me maintain inventory of her introductions.

For 2018, a new introduction 'Boy from Tupelo' is available for spring shipping as well as many of Pat's prior introductions. Quantities are very limited, so please contact me for availability before placing an order. I prefer to ship by USPS Priority Mail ($12 for up to 3 plants).
