2017 Update on
Pat Cochenour Daylilies

It is hard to believe that it's been three years since we lost Pat Cochenour to cancer. Pat's daylilies continue to provide enjoyment in so many gardens and continue to be highly prized by collectors. Donations from 2016 sales were made in Pat's memory to the American Hemerocallis Society, the Inova Health Foundation's Life with Cancer program, the Inova Comprehensive Cancer and Research Institute and to Jake's Place Animal Rescue.

If you are driving through the Washington, DC, area to attend the 2017 AHS National Convention in Norfolk, VA, my garden will be open with a complete collection of Pat's introductions on display. For more information, see the Open Gardens section of the convention website at http://ahs2017convention.org/index.html. Be sure to look for Pat's introductions featured in the convention tour gardens.

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA, where Pat volunteered for many years, is only a few miles away from my garden and well worth a visit. At Meadowlark, you can see Pat's memorial garden featuring Region 3 hybridizers and other large daylily display beds.

I selected several of Pat's seedlings for introduciton in 2017, and still more are under evaluation. I am continuing Pat's work on small spiders, unusual forms, polymerous and very green daylilies and should have blooms on many of these seedlings in 2017. A special thank you goes out to several of Pat's customers who have helped me maintain inventory for some of Pat's introductions. See the About My Garden page for more information on Pat's hybridizing.

I am pleased to announce that 'Key West Sunset Sail', 'Moby Grape', and 'Pat's Legacy' are available for spring 2017 delivery as well as some of Pat's prior introductons. Quantities are very limited, so please contact me for availability before placing an order. I prefer to ship by USPS Priority Mail ($12 for up to 3 plants), and my garden was rust free in 2016.
