2007 was a poor year in terms of plant quality. The late spring frost followed by continued drought accompanied by record-breaking heat and humidity, devastated the garden. Many of my established Echinaceas and other perennials simply died. Many of my daylilies did not bloom, and some produced what I would call grotesque blooms. Yet there were those daylilies, happily, that snubbed the hostile cards they were dealt and performed wonderfully.
My best performer this year was . . .
Plum Curls!
This flower was beautiful this season!
