Welcome To Blue Heron Daylily Gardens |
Hello daylily friends! Welcome to our little bit of Heaven! Dayliles have gone from "Dear what a pretty plant shall we buy it" to a full blown passion of "We must have it". There is something incredible about watching the fans develop and push up scapes, counting the branches and buds. Waiting with anticipation for the first bloom. Every morning strolling around the garden to see who is blooming today. Admiring the form and balance of each plant --- All the while hoping the end of season will hold off! We are offering this many plants as there isn't even space for a new pansy! So-o-o we are on the property market for more land and you guessed it More Daylilies, a pond and possibly a real Blue Heron guest. The move requires us to down size the number of scapes. With 300 or so cultivars to move we plan on moving only double fans.
The name Blue Heron Daylily Gardens came from another passion of Jim's. Many times when driving I would spot one and we would pull over and just watch this amazing bird. So last Father's Day I had a large Blue Heron statue placed at the end of the garden where it is constantly in Jim's view.
Besides flowers and birds we have Siamese cats and 2 sassy white toy poodles. The
dogs have travelled on several garden visits with us and always amazed our host at the way they danced around the gardens with full respect of the cultivars.
Our website is just budding created by "Fairyscape Web Design ". We would like to thank Michaela from Fairyscape for loaning her photos to our site. You can see she is a whizz with a camera. Our photos were wiped out when our computer was repaired for a new screen. I can't tell you how disappointed we were to find our photos gone. It's like losing a family album! Coming soon we hope to add floral pictures of our own, Jim's Blue Heron statue and our family pets. All plants are guaranteed to meet your approval. Carefully packaged and shipped on your dates.
